Question: Can you use Modifier 24 and 25 on the same date of service?

Answer: The short answer is yes. However, these modifiers are primarily used for the same purpose, so it is highly unlikely that they would be used for the same service.

Modifier 24 is used to identify E/M (Evaluation and Management)services provided on the same day of the surgery by the surgeon but is unrelated to the surgery.

Modifier 25 is used to identify E/M (Evaluation and Management)services as separate from another service performed on the same day by the same provider.
